Good article. One thing to remember.....you can't win a tournament in the early stage but you can sure as hell lose one.

i totally agree with u davega!

the article is definitely a good read, like all the others Yes

but i didn't catch the meaning of the M in this sentence: "Therefore you can play a little looser in a guaranteed tournament as you would do in a normal MTT since your M is much higher."

i guess it is referred to the double stack, but what does that stand for?

can someone help me?

M is the ratio of your stack vs the total blinds+antes. In the guaranteed tourneys, chip stacks are higher so you have a higher M. Basically, M tells you how many rounds you can play assuming you play no hands. This is especially important at the end of tourneys. Your M controls which hands you should play. At 10, you have pretty liberal starting hand requirements. At 5, very liberal. At 2, any 2 cards that you can be 1st into the pot with.
