Summary
MANSION poker has been one of the best sites for overlays and bonuses on the net. It is a sportsbook and casino on top of being a poker room. Accessing the sportsbook and casino and poker is all possible with only one account, so there is no annoying transferring between areas of the site. Mansion started out by itself, but has recently joined the Ongame Network. This has enabled the site to spread more games, and has generated a heap load of more player traffic.
The first deposit bonuses on this site are amazing. Mansion makes the other sites jealous with the size of the guaranteed tournaments they offer. They host many guarantee tournaments with great overlays.
Mansion is also the site behind the Fox Sports Networks' Poker Dome Challenge. They built a poker arena in Vegas, and had dozens of turbo SnGs on TV to whittle down to 6 players who then would play for the title. Much of the traffic on this site has inevitably come from people watching and participating in the Poker Dome Challenge.
Mansion has also made an effort to sign on some people to endorsement deals. The MANSION Team currently consists of Marc Goodwin and Shannon Elizabeth.
MANSION is a great site for promotions, and Poker can be soft.
Cash Games
The majority of the action on Mansion Poker is the lower levels of Limit Hold'em and No Limit Hold'em. Mansion spread Holdem, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, 7 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo and Five-Card Draw. These are all available in No-Limit, Limit and Pot-Limit betting structures. The actually limits themselves range from $0.10-$0.20 to $400-$800, so there are suitable stakes for everyone.
Sit and Go
The SnGs on Mansion vary from $1.10 buy-ins up to $525. There is good traffic in the Mansion SnGs, and they have the standard SnGs one would expect. However, there are also some variations on the traditional.
They have "Mad Tilt" SnG, where you start with 60 chips, and the blinds begin at 10-20. The "Mad Tilt" idea is pretty unique, and is a great way to tilt as quickly as possible.
MTTs
Since Moving to the new Network, the Mansion Multi Table Tournaments have gotten better and worse.
They are a bit worse than before, as more players enter them now, cutting down some overlay.
They are better than before, because now there are more of them running around the clock with more players.
There is a weekly Lucky Dollar Tournament with $2.5k added. This attracts a large field of hopeless players, and has good value, and more importantly is really fun. Sign up early as this tournament fills up fast!
Showcase Tournaments
Mansion is currently running satellites for the WSOP, EPT and the Swedish Open. The WSOP packages are actually really awesome. They have two different ones to choose from, and run all kinds of satellites for these daily.
At the end of every month, Mansion has the 'Grand Tournament.' It has a $1040 buy in, and a guaranteed prize pool of $750k. There are infinite qualifiers running all month long for this, so it shouldn't be too hard to qualifier for much cheaper than the 1k buy-in.
Freerolls
The Freerolls at Mansion rank up there with the other top Freeroll sites. There are several $500 Freerolls every day, and a $1k freeroll weekly. There is a first deposit freeroll $3k Freeroll every month for the new players, and a monthly $15k Freeroll for anyone who has earned 200 Mansion frequent player points in the previous month.
Interface / User-Friendliness
Before merging with OnGame, Mansion had an amazing interface that they made for themselves. Luckily the OnGame network is a modern one, and has even nicer graphics and interface options. The software is very stable, so crashes and bugs are not part of the picture.
The usual options and tools exist, such as player notes and tiling options for multi-tabling, great statistics reports, real time hand histories, and fast flowing action at the tables.
A couple of the other tools are the 'player classification' system so you can easily put an icon on your opponents so you can remember how they play, and the 'all-in probability' graph which displays your odds of winning the hand when all your chips are in the middle.
Frequent Player Points
Mansion has a VPP system in place to reward the loyal customers. Each time you are raked in cash or tournament games, you generate these VPP points. These points may be used for tournament entries, and redeemed in the VIP Shop, which offers all kinds of cool things.
Level of Play
The level of play is soft overall on Mansion. The gamblers from the Casino and Sportsbook are huge poker fish.
Mansion aggressively markets the poker room to these players, so when they give it a shot it is a goldmine.
With all the overlays and promotions going on, many bad players flock to this site to try and take advantage. The higher levels games are of course much tougher, as the OnGame Network is the hunting grounds to many of the top online sharks in Europe.
Overall the lower and mid limit games and MTTs are filled with weak players
Often players mistake getting dealt 2-2 as the nuts, or fall in love with gutshot draws until the river.
This huge fish stew has been put together by the Dome Challenge and all the promotions that happen around the site.
Mansion has done a great job attracting the loose, inexperienced players!
Traffic
Since joining the OnGame Network, traffic on Mansion has been great. It built up a decent player base to begin with on its own with the insane promotions and overlay, and by adding itself to the network it has logically increased the traffic. The most games going at any time are Texas Hold'em at the lower limits, and these games are generally played loosely.
Support and Cashier
Mansion Support offers its services in all three ways. Phone calls, Live Chat Support, and Email Support. They have very good support. Response times are fast, and the information is relevant.
The Cashier is good, and accepts many ways to deposit. In past experiences, sometimes cashing out large amounts has taken a few days, so be wary of it.
Conclusion
Overall this is a great site. It is highly recommended to new players that like freerolls and soft games. The Satellites are great, making it a nice site to try and qualify for live events such as the WSOP or EPT.
Mansion showed its spirit early with the huge Poker Dome Challenge.
They are committed to the players, and often show this in the form of stupendous promotions. They made news a few years ago with the $1.1k bet promotion, where if you lost they refunded you. How sick was that? This site is so good for these types of things.
The SnGs and MTTs are plentiful and fun and the cash games are loose and fast. Sign up through PokerNews today and give Mansion Poker a shot!
