Duplicate Poker

Duplicate Poker provides an innovative concept for Poker. There is not much for cash games on Duplicate Poker; it is all Multi Table Tournaments and SnGs. The rules and game play are the same as normal, but there is a pretty drastic twist.

The point of this innovative system is to reduce the importance of luck, and reward the more skillfully played hands. This is how it works:

Everything is duplicated.

Every table and player is mirrored by another, and you are playing against people at other tables that have the same cards as you.

So each player in each seat on each table gets the same cards as each other, and receives the same number of chips at the start of every hand no matter how many they had the hand before.
Each player plays the hand they are giving, and at the end of the hand a final score is calculated.
This score is judged by how many chips each person collectively has at the end of the hand

This concept is growing in popularity, and is very easy to get the hang of. It sounds more complicated then it is. If the idea of reducing luck and increasing skill is appealing to you, it is worth trying this mode of Poker.

All the SnGs on Duplicate Poker are fairly small limits ranging from $0.23 to $27 in buy-in. They also have a satellite SnG to the $2k Sunday Guarantee MTT. In non peak hours, tournaments do not run very often at all, in fact the site is practically dead. So if you like this concept and want to play the SnGs, stick to the peak hours.

Duplicate Poker hosts several small Freerolls a day. They also have 'Almost Freerolls' which cost $0.02 to enter.

The software at Duplicate is pretty basic, and the colors are nice. There are several avatars you can choose from to represent you at the table.
